When he began the business back in 1976, Bob named his company Floor Covering Associates because, from the beginning, he thought of floor covering as more than just carpet. The concept of multi-product offerings was always at the heart of his business.

Today's FCA stores offer carpet, hardwood, ceramic tile, stone, luxury vinyl, laminates and area rugs; the Naperville store also offers a full range of design services and an exclusive selection of quality home furnishings including kitchen and bath cabinetry.

What started as a carpet store with only two employees in 1976 has grown to be one of the top floor covering businesses in the country. FCA is ranked among the top 20 U.S. retailers in Floor Covering Weekly's annual Top 50 Retailers list.

Bob Hill is also an industry leader; he takes on leadership roles and advises colleagues as a regular course of business. He has been president of the National Floorcovering Alliance, and Chairman of the Board of the World Floor Covering Association, assuming leadership of the industry's two major national organizations.

Bob has many industry awards to his credit. Most recently, he was named the Chicago Floorcovering Association's "Person of the Year."
